What We Lose Behind ‘Fast and Cheap.’

What We Lose Behind “Fast and Cheap.”

Lately, I often see phrases like “quick salon,” “time-saving cut,” or “speed color.”
Of course, we live in a busy world, and there are times when those services are absolutely necessary.

But I want to pause for a moment and think—
what are we losing behind all that “speed” and “cheapness”?

Hair actually reflects everything — your daily rhythm, your stress level, even the way you think.
For example, just by looking at the way bed hair forms,
you can often tell whether someone has relaxed mornings or is always rushing out the door.

That’s why, before I start cutting a client’s hair,
I always ask questions like “What’s your daily routine like?” or “How has your hair been changing recently?”
If I skip that step just to “finish quickly,” the result will inevitably feel off somewhere.

What I value isn’t simply “taking time.”
It’s about “spending the right amount of time each person truly needs.”

Some people finish quickly, others need a bit more time.
The right answer is different for everyone—there are as many “correct” ways as there are clients.

“Quick salons are convenient,
but maybe it’s nice to spend some time just for myself once in a while.”

If that thought crosses someone’s mind, I’d be really happy.

Time spent on your hair
can also be time spent realigning your heart.
