“I booked a perm, but… the haircut alone made me happy” — What does that mean?

A young man wearing a denim jacket and white T-shirt smiles gently indoors under natural light. His soft brown hair and round glasses stand out in this calm and relaxed portrait.

“Just the haircut changed everything. This is more than enough!”

That’s what a customer from France told me yesterday, leaving with a smile.
They had originally booked for a perm,
but after discussing their hair concerns, current condition, and lifestyle during the consultation, I suggested “just a haircut” based on multiple factors.

In the end, they were very satisfied, and we didn’t use any chemicals.
No burden on the hair or scalp—we simply enjoyed a natural transformation together.

Personally, I believe that
if you can avoid using chemicals, that’s the best choice.

Color, perms, and straightening are certainly useful techniques,
but they take time, they cost money,
and above all, they inevitably put stress on your hair and scalp.

So when someone says they “just want a change,”
I always carefully consider whether a perm is truly necessary.

If I only cared about sales or profit,
I probably would have gone ahead with the perm.

But I want to focus on “what’s truly needed for the customer.”
That kind of approach often leads to greater satisfaction in the end.

If a haircut alone can bring that satisfaction, that’s the healthiest and simplest choice.
When the hair is in shape, the mind follows.
I believe it’s always better to avoid unnecessary treatments.
