In the Age of AI, How Do You Choose Who Cuts Your Hair?

An image representing the human brain and neural circuits. The futuristic background visualizes the connection between technology and consciousness.

There are more and more moments these days when I think, “Wow, AI is really convenient.”
I even rely on it not only for beauty-related things but also for travel information and quick recipes.

But hold on a second.

When it comes to hairstyles or choosing a salon, aren’t you trusting AI or online information a little too much?

Bias Exists Everywhere

Google, social media, and even AI—all contain some level of bias.

Information that includes specific keywords or has a flashy appearance tends to catch the eye more easily.
Many people end up trusting it just because it shows up more or seems highly rated, even though that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s accurate.

Are You Choosing Based on Photos and Vibes?

When deciding on a hairstyle or searching for a salon or hairstylist,
do you go for one that “feels nice,” has “cute model hairstyles,” or “Instagrammable photos”?
Many people do.

But there’s a big trap in that way of thinking.

Generative AI Can Easily Create “Realistic-Looking” Hairstyles

A few years ago, when salons wanted to promote their hairstyle photos, they had to:

  • Book professional models
  • Prepare wardrobe and makeup
  • Coordinate with photographers
  • Style and shoot the looks

…which required huge amounts of time, effort, and cost.

But now, it’s a different story.

With AI, we’re in an era where anyone can easily generate highly realistic “hairstyle photos” of what look like actual humans.
From facial features to hair texture and style, generative AI can replicate it all to look “real.”

In other words, even if a hairstylist has never actually created that look, it’s easy to post a photo that looks like they did.

Anyone Can Post a Photo That “Looks Like It Was Done” But Wasn’t

So going forward,
questions like “Did this hairstylist really create that look?”
and “Will it turn out like the photo?”
will become more common.

If you keep choosing based solely on visuals and catchy phrases,
you may find yourself saying, “Wait… this isn’t what I expected.”

The Value Will Shift from the Surface to “Who Creates It”

Even for hairstylists, surface-level images alone won’t cut it anymore when communicating value.

  • What was the thought process behind this style?
  • Why did they give that particular advice?
  • What experience and skills do they have?

These “human elements” will be key to building trust and attracting clients from now on.

Choosing the “Real Thing” Without Being Misled

That’s why I want to say this to you—

The more AI evolves, the more critical your “eye for authenticity” becomes.

Don’t be swayed just because the photos look great or the stylist has lots of followers.
Ask yourself:
“Who actually created this hairstyle?”
“How does that stylist approach their clients?”

Choose with a mindset that goes beyond surface-level impressions.

In Conclusion

The age of AI isn’t just about “information overload”—it’s about learning to identify what’s truly real.

As a hairstylist, I’ll continue sharing honest insights and delivering real, high-level techniques.
I’m committed to offering the kind of value that only human hands and hearts can provide—something AI will never replicate.

I hope you’ll also start choosing based on more than just pretty photos or clever words.
