People hate losing more than they love winning. That’s why I offer thorough consultations before every booking.

People hate losing more than they love winning. That’s why I offer thorough consultations before every booking.

“People choose avoiding loss over gaining something.”

This is a well-known principle in behavioral economics. For example —
Would you choose a 50% chance to win 1,000,000 yen, or a guaranteed 500,000 yen?
Most people choose the latter. Why? Because we don’t want to lose.

Choosing a hair salon is no different.
“What if it doesn’t turn out right?” “What if it doesn’t suit me?” — These worries make it hard to take that first step. That’s why I offer thorough consultations even before a reservation. Make sure you’re confident before coming. Take a seat with peace of mind.

What matters more to me than a first-time discount

Sure, offering a “first-time only discount” helps lower psychological barriers.
But I don’t offer discounts. For two reasons:

  • Because I want you to choose based on value, not price
  • Because I want to guarantee the same quality and time from the very first visit

I dedicate time before your visit to align expectations, so you won’t feel like you “lost” anything.

How pre-booking consultations work (Online OK)

You can reach out before booking via message (email / Instagram DM / LINE, etc.)
The communication is simple, but thoughtful.

  1. Understanding your current situation
     ・Hair concerns and ideal look
・Treatment history over the past year (color, perm, straightening, home care)
・Areas of concern, things you absolutely don’t want
  2. Clarifying what is and isn’t possible
Based on your hair condition and history, I’ll honestly assess what’s realistically achievable. I don’t force anything. I’ll suggest options that won’t limit your future choices.
  3. Menu, time required, and estimated cost
I’ll share the process, approximate time, and estimated price beforehand. Even first-timers will feel prepared.
  4. Aligning the finished look
Sharing photos (front / side / back of your current hair, and inspiration images) helps achieve better accuracy.

*Replies may be delayed during appointments, but I always respond.

My promise to offer a “risk-free salon experience”

  • I will never deny your ideas. I’ll listen and find the best solution with you.
  • I will communicate risks and downsides upfront (e.g. avoiding aggressive treatments in one session, keeping future options open).
  • I design the plan to include home care and maintenance schedules (not just a “one-day result”).
  • If something is not my specialty, I will say so honestly. I don’t recommend what I don’t do well.

Who should consider a pre-booking consultation

  • If you’ve had bad experiences with color, perm, or straightening
  • If you’re considering high-impact treatments like bleach or chemical straightening
  • If you have lifestyle or workplace restrictions (e.g. no bright colors, must be able to tie hair)
  • If you want to carefully balance your budget and ideal outcome
  • If you’re visiting on a tight schedule for a trip or business

The values I hold dear

To provide value that exceeds the price, I design the entire experience — from technique and design, to product choice, consultation, and aftercare — as one seamless journey.
One-on-one, up to two clients per day. This structure allows me to focus time and reduce your worries one by one.

Consultation Template (Feel free to copy and paste)

  • Your name (nickname is fine)
  • Preferred appointment dates (1st to 3rd choice)
  • Current hair condition (length, damage, waviness, etc.)
  • Hair treatment history over the past year (e.g. full color 3 months ago, digital perm 6 months ago)
  • Desired style (URL to image is fine / work restrictions, etc.)
  • Budget range
  • Any allergies or concerns

Just having this info will help me give you a much more accurate proposal.
But don’t worry — even a message like “I haven’t decided anything yet” is totally fine.

In the end — Start with a consultation, so you don’t “lose”

Cutting, coloring, or perming hair is working directly with the body — it’s not something you can undo.
That’s why I hope you take the first step and send a message.
You can decide after you’re confident. Sit in the chair once you’re at ease.
I offer consultations to help make that possible.
