Your New Hairstyle Looks Great to You, But Others Don’t Like It? Finding the Balance Between What You Love and What Suits You.

Your New Hairstyle Looks Great to You, But Others Don’t Like It? Finding the Balance Between What You Love and What Suits You

“I really love this hairstyle.”

Every time you look in the mirror, it makes you feel happy.
When you visit a hair salon and try a new hairstyle, feeling that excitement is something truly wonderful.

However, on the other hand,

“Your previous hairstyle was better.”
“I feel like the old one suited you more.”

you may hear comments like these from people around you, such as your family, friends, or partner.

Why does this happen, even though you personally love your new hairstyle?

The reason is that a hairstyle has both a subjective perspective—what you personally like—and an objective perspective—how others see you.

Respecting Your Personal Taste While Considering an Objective Perspective

First of all, everyone’s standards of beauty, cuteness, and attractiveness are different.

If there are 100 people, there are 100 different values and perspectives.

That is why, as a hairdresser, I highly value my clients’ feelings of “I want to become this kind of person” or “I like this type of hairstyle.”

I would never recommend a hairstyle simply because I think it suits someone if they themselves do not feel happy with it.

At the same time, a hairstyle is not something that only you see. It is something that many people will notice in your everyday life.

For example, your impression at work, the balance with your fashion, your age and atmosphere, your lifestyle, and how you want to be perceived by others.

By considering these factors, I can suggest a hairstyle that suits you from a more objective perspective.

“I like it, but it may look slightly out of place from someone else’s point of view.”

To reduce this kind of gap, having an objective perspective is important.

A Suitable Hairstyle Is One That Feels Right for Both You and the People Around You

When thinking about a hairstyle, I do not believe it is best to focus 100% only on your own preferences, nor do I think you should only care about what others think.

The important thing is finding the right balance.

For example,

“I want to look trustworthy in my professional life.”
“I want my partner to think I look cute.”
“I want to express a stylish image.”
“I want to stay true to myself.”

The things people wish to achieve through their hairstyle are different for everyone.

That is why I believe a hairdresser should not only look at hair texture and face or head shape, but also understand a person’s lifestyle and how they wish to be seen by others when creating a hairstyle.

Feeling happy when you look at yourself in the mirror.

And having people around you—your family, friends, and colleagues—feel that “You look wonderful.”

When both of these things come together, I believe a hairstyle can enrich your daily life.

I value each client’s personal wishes of “how they want to look” while also offering a professional objective perspective and considering the impression they create for the people around them. This is how I create a personalized hair design for each individual.
